Pé Redondo is the name of the research and development department of Bodegas Martín Códax. It is a

12-hectare vineyard, one of the largest plots in the Salnés Valley, acquired in 2002. Located in the municipality of Meis, Pé Redondo was born as a vineyard for its own production, from which the grapes are obtained to make the Martín Códax Lías wine, and later on it became the winery’s research vineyard. In this plot different studies are carried out with the aim of deepening the knowledge of this varietal and improving the quality of our wines.

 

WINEMAKING

A modern wine that is made by combining tradition and technology. After a selected harvest at the optimum moment of ripeness, the resulting must is fermented in stainless steel. The oenology team makes an exhaustive selection of the best lees from all the winery’s tanks which, together with the selected wine, are subjected to “battonage” for two months, a

A unique method that provides its particular smoothness and ample volume in the mouth. It is then aged for ten months in stainless steel tanks, with the lees at rest, which gives it roundness and balance.

 

VISUAL PHASE

Intense straw yellow.

OLFACTORY PHASE

Medium-high aromatic intensity, with oral notes (white and yellow), toasted bread type and a fruit background (apple skin). Vegetables reminiscent of hay.

TASTE PHASE

Wide mouth, fat and full-bodied. Good passage, long and aftertaste where the notes of the bakery stand out.
