The Albariño wine “MARTÍN CÓDAX” is named after the most renowned Galician troubadour (13th century), whose poetry evokes gallant love and passion for the sea.
The songs of “Martín Códax” are the oldest of all the Galician-Portuguese songs, from which its original music has been preserved. The manuscript containing them, known as the “Vindel Scroll”, is kept in the Morgan Library in New York.
The Albariño “Martín Códax” is made from grapes exclusively from selected plots of land in the “Val do Salnés”, following a rigorous and careful process to guarantee the varietal purity and the traditional essence of the wines from this valley.
Clean, bright, lemon yellow with greenish trim.
Medium to high intensity, notes of lime and grapefruit citrus. White pome fruit such as melon, pear and apple. Oral notes (hawthorn, orange blossom) and a balsamic background.
Fresh entry, great pass through the mouth, unctuous, enveloping and persistent, well balanced and long. In retronasal, notes of citrus and white fruit stand out.
